Senior Year

School began again on August 27. C. is a senior this year. She was nervous-excited as I took her to school (her toes are almost healed but it's a v-e-r-y long walk for sore toes). She loved her first day overall. Thursday the extra 23-minutes were resolved for about half the students in the class after the lunch break. That was the worst -- unless you count the 'extra-credit' math sheet that threw her for a loop because she hadn't used 'order of operation' for over a year. By the end of the next day she even had that figured out.

She likes the math teacher and the English teacher very much and is excited about what is planned in English. She also likes music/choir and that teacher. Of course there's JROTC which is her fourth year. I never have figured out why the school has eight classes for freshmen and sophomores and only four for juniors and seniors. It's called 'block' classes which are double in length and some classes are finished in one semester instead of a whole year. It's a lot different 'than when I was in school.'

I have every confidence C. will be a fine senior with a continued stellar academic record. Now if I can just get through all the deadlines myself, I'll consider it a good year, too.
