Things I am thankful for as 2009 gets underway...
My still kitten minded Spooky who is at this moment curled purringly contented on my arm which leans on the table as I type one-handed. He likes to do this often and I rarely turn him away. Cali is behind me curled in her basket in front of the heater vent. I am sure Smokey is near though I can't see him (well sometimes he curls underneath the blanket on my bed and snoozes the day away..).
My husband who is at this moment at work providing for his family.
My granddaughter, C, who is at this moment in school being a good student and 'a joy to have in class' as all her teachers tell me at every conference.
I am thankful for the writers of blogs I read which gives me insights into the lives of others and makes the world a friendlier place.
The scriptures and the stories therein that are familiar and inspiring on how to become more than what I am by following the example of dedicated followers of Christ.
A warm house when it's brr-ing outside.
Computers and the internet.
Family dinners on Monday nights.
Going to my daughter's house.
My green dining room.
Scrapbooking and arranging pictures and liking what I created.
Genealogy and making sense of the people who came before me.
Doing puzzles. Jigsaw. Sudoku. Crossword. All kinds...
The health that I have.
Ten fingers that work at my command.
That I'll probably never be bald.
The ability to read which I do every day.
The ability to spell and my love of words.
Cameras and photography and the sense of artistic expression it affords me.
The person who invented cameras and those who perfected them.
Jesus Christ.
The Gospel.
Good music.
"The Women" songs we sang a couple years ago.
The great composers like Tschaikovsky and Borodin.
The great poets like Longfellow.
The writers of the books I read.
People at Church who hug me -- either literally or figuratively
Life-long friends.
Good food. Sweet potato casserole. Yummy potatoes. Green bean casserole. Melt-in-your-mouth pork roast. My way chicken divan.
Chocolate.
Dinner out!
Long walks on spring days.
Flowers. Daffodils. Daisies. Lilacs. Azaleas. Rhododendron. Tiger lilies. Peonies. Columbine. Amaryllis. Magnolia. Tulips. Iris. Flowering almond. Forsythia. Spirea.
Vacations.
Sunsets.
Sunrises.
Another day.

Check out my blogs
i got me 10 find toes to wiggle in the sand, lots of idle fingers snap to my command
A loverly pair of heels that kick to beat the band,
Contemplating nature can be fascinating,
Add to these a nose that I can thumb, and a mouth by gum have I
So tell the whole wide world, if you don't happen to like it,
Deal me out, thank you kindly, pass me by.
Thanx for a reminder of one of my old-time favorite songs.
